ARMER Introduction & Overview

Welcome to the ARMER (Anger Reduction, Management, and Emotional Regulation) program, prepared for and by Peace Be Your Journey Counselling Services.

This program is structured to meet the requirements of the Victorian Judicial System. It integrates related themes to ensure coherence, balancing foundational knowledge with actionable tools.

There are five sections within the course

Section 1 introduces a foundational understanding of anger and builds a basic awareness of emotional intelligence.

Section 2 explores the influence of society and culture on anger and looks at how what we believe affects our behaviour.

Section 3 continues to build on emotional intelligence, resilience, and relationship skills.

Section 4 dives into conflict and its effect on our behaviour and address conflict resolution and communication skills.

Section 5 discusses power dynamics, respect, how to prevent relapses into anger and advanced conflict resolution skills.

Spread over these five sections are twelve modules, each building progressively toward self-awareness and societal influences on skills for relationships, conflict management, and sustaining change. This approach ensures participants develop a comprehensive understanding of anger and effective strategies to manage it responsibly.

The program is then rounded off by empowering and assisting you to build your own anger management plan and building a support network. This course is designed to empower you with practical tools that can transform the way you manage anger and enhance your overall well-being.

Remember, change takes time and effort, but with dedication and practice, you can make significant strides towards achieving a greater sense of emotional well-being. Let's embark on this journey together.
