Peace Be Your Journey Counselling Services; beginnings ...
My focus is on helping men like you who find themselves getting angry and frustrated, and here’s why:
Over the years, I’ve worked with a lot of different counsellors and seen various approaches, but one thing stood out—there weren’t many male counsellors. That gap is what led me to becoming a counsellor, and also to specialise in working with men.
I’ve got plenty of experience supporting men dealing with issues like depression, anxiety, grief, and loss. I became a counsellor because I know how valuable it is to have someone to talk to—someone who isn’t emotionally affected by your problems. Personally, I struggled with anger, depression, and unrecognised grief. When my emotions were out of control, I wrecked a few relationships and developed some risky, life-threatening behaviours.
From my teens into my late 40's anger was a large part of my identity. I went through depression, destroyed relationships, became addicted to gambling, alcohol, tobacco, and self-loathing. I didn't enjoy very many things in life, and generally felt like the world would have been better off without me around.
It took a counsellor to see what was really happening to me. As I came to understand the why of the things I did, I became empowered to change what I could, forgive what I couldn't change, and walk away from so many toxic environments.
Over the years since then, I realised that there are so many people, especially men who are going through a similar battle every day. Some of them don't survive. Out of a desire to be better, and to help other men be better came the idea of PBYJCS. In late 2021, after witnessing the fear, anxiety, sadness, and lack of hope that followed on from the Covid epidemic, I took the dive into the private practice world of counselling. Here, four and a bit years later, I am going strong, and ready to move into a new stage of practice. Out of all my experience has come a 12-part program to help people, but men in particular, of all ages understand their anger, learn how to build emotional resilience. This, coupled with some personal counselling and the construction of an individualised anger management plan allows my clients to walk a more peace-filled journey.
To help men regain control, I created a program called ARMER (Anger Reduction, Management & Emotional Regulation). It’s designed to help you manage your anger, reduce emotional stress, and become the calm, confident version of yourself you’ve always wanted to be.
The program, I call ARMER (which stands for Anger Reduction, Management, & Emotional Regulation), is designed to be delivered in one-on-one sessions and to groups of up to 15. If you would like to know more about the program, or are interested in having a talk with me, please send me a message using the button below.
Not after ARMER? No worries! I also offer personalised support for a wide range of challenges, and I’d love to help you with whatever you’re going through.
